Went to St Luke's day home for the aged.
Went with my Serve China team mates. It was quite a fun experience. And talking to them makes me want to go back to ngee ann n study all over again! So i won't be feeling so lost about my future!
The place we went to is like a day-care centre for old people. They just sit around, do exercises, chat and watch tv together. They were fun man.. n some of them made attempts to be lame laaarrr...
In the midst of our sing along programme, this 60+ man started laughing and crying. He was smiling and wiping his tears at the same time. According to my friend who chatted w him, he was a structure engineer, he had a stroke and now he's here. All his kids are residing overseas. I don't know if he was happy or somehow he misses something which we were giving him during our sing along. I felt sooooooo sad, i just wanna hug n cry w him even though i don't know what's his whole reason.
It was weird, like all my emotions were blown up like a balloon and just about to burst. I won't do what his kids do to my own parents. Chuck him/her somewhere,hire a maid to take care of him and make him/her miss me. I just feel sad. Because he doesn't have a whole lifetime to wait for his kids to come back to visit him.
There were many happy faces too lar.. i'm starting to sound as if we brought sadness to them! There was this short old lady, she looks like the chinese version of mary poppins.. so cute larr.. and some really enthu elderly who'll do whatever u ask them to do.
I'm glad i did something meaningful today! :)
